This gives right-on, informative, gratifying, satire of global US relations and drive for hegemony:

‘Iran Must Begin Acting Like a Normal Nation,’ Says Totally Normal Nation

Breakdown / Breakthrough: Dr. Hazel Henderson

We are finding that breakdowns drive breakthroughs and that stress is evolution’s tool, evolving all species through environmental conditions and natural selection as Charles Darwin described. Our next technological stage, the Solar Age, is rapidly taking over, along with the primacy of information. Hopefully, information can grow into greater wisdom and lead to more ethical choices both individually and collectively, as we clarify new markets and how our global commons must be shared equitably among our species and with other species in maintaining our living global biosphere.

“MARKETS’ GROWING PROBLEM TWINS: ADVERTISING and TRADING“

‘Full spectrum dominance by 2020’

Dr. Bertell in her Letter to the UN Commission on Biodiversity, 2011 (the year before she died):

“There are fewer unknowns and/or dangerous consequences connected with converting our addiction to fossil fuels into developing more benign energy technologies, than there is in manipulation of a delicately balanced earth system with the potentially widespread and irreversible consequences of interruption of the natural interaction between the oceans and the sun, the ionosphere and the magnetosphere!

We already have a wealth of experience, beginning with attempts at weather control with cloud seeding in 1950, and 50 decades of military experiments designed to assure “full spectrum dominance” by 2020”.

CYBERWARFARE

On 30 May 2000, General Henry H. Shelton, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, released the military’s vision for the year 2020. The press release stated:

‘The overarching focus of JV2020 remains a joint force capable of full spectrum dominance…pre-eminent in any form of conflict. Four operational concepts – dominant maneuver, precision engagement, focused logistics, and full dimensional protection – continue as the foundation of JV2020.’

What emerges from the new military planning is that information technology will be key in the development of future warfare. The US will be able to conduct attacks on foreign computer networks while defending its own system against attack. Strikes will include using deception to ‘defend decision-making processes by neutralizing an adversary’s perception management and intelligence collection efforts’. Faced with such obscure language, the lay reader can only speculate as to what this might entail. The press release concluded that information warfare will become as important as that ‘conducted in the domains of land, air and space’. China’s military also has stated that it intends to make information warfare a capability equal in stature to its army, navy and air forces.

[FN: ‘Pentagon Envisions Cyber-warfare Rise’, Washington Times, 31 May 2000]

The need for sophisticated early-warning systems and intelligence sources is part of this overall plan for ‘dominance’ and an integrated system of defence.”

“NATO-Exit” International Front

The Florence Declaration: The Creation of a “NATO-Exit” International Front

By Comitato No Nato and Global Research

Global Research, April 11, 2019

Text of The Florence Declaration adopted by more than 600 participants to the Florence No War No NATO Conference, April 7, 2019.

Original in Italian. Translations into English, French, Russian, Spanish. The debates and discussions were chaired by renowned author and geographer Manlio Dinucci.

The event was organized by Italy’s Comitato No Guerra, No NATO, in collaboration with the Centre for Research on Globalization (CRG). The Florence Declaration was drafted by Italy’s Comitato and the CRG.

“The war of aggression waged by NATO in 1999 against Yugoslavia paved the way for the globalization of military interventions, with wars against Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and other countries, in complete violation of international law.

These wars are financed by the member countries, whose military budgets are increasing continually to the detriment of social expenditure, in order to support colossal military programmes like that of the US nuclear programme which costs 1,200 billion dollars.

In violation of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, the USA is deploying nuclear weapons in five non-nuclear NATO States, under the false pretext of the ”Russian menace”. By doing so, they are risking the security of Europe.”

The Florence Declaration: The Creation of a “NATO-Exit” International Front

To meet our climate commitments, Canada must join these countries–not only to reduce CO2 emissions, but the smoke, dust, and aerosol particulates that also cause global warming. With continuous  US-NATO bombing approaching or exceeding the millions of tons of explosives detonated in WWII, carried out also by Canada (https://wordpress.com/page/action-on-military-climate-change.net/73)  and the massive devastation of weather war, we must recognize and ameliorate these realities if we are to slow the climate crisis, and stop the death and suffering of millions around the world.

Let Peace Be Their Memorial

Justine poppy photoThe white poppy commemorates both the civilian and military victims of war on all sides of conflict. On Remembrance Day several hundred people took part in the annual Peace Poppy event at Seaforth Park in Vancouver (where forty years ago 80,000 people left to walk for Peace across the Burrard Bridge).

The keynote speaker was Fazineh Keita, a former child soldier from Sierra Leone, now working with the Innocence Lost Foundation.

The Solidarity Labour Choir, two powerful songs by Roger and Kathy (Cousins and You Will Know Where I Stand) and a beautiful, tragic poem by E.D. Blodget, a veteran, provided music and images.

Eleven wreaths were laid, commemorating: Children killed, injured or orphaned by war; civilian and military PTSD sufferers; indigenous victims of genocide and cultural destruction; Child soldiers; medical aid workers; women raped and victimized in wartime, refugees, environmental devastation, and more. Survivors of war in community organizations laid nine wreaths: in memory of victims of the ongoing Syrian war; the Holocaust; Hiroshima and Nagasaki; Vietnam; the plight of Palestinians, Iraq, and more.

‘Road pricing’: key to cutting greenhouse gases? Suzuki Report

A22 Saturday, November 30, 2019 Vancouver Sun

Editor;

It’s disappointing to see the David Suzuki Foundation advocating road pricing; to see Vancouver and Metro looking at it. Stockholm is not us: our gap between rich and poor is wider, distances greater. Why not replace the gas tax with carbon tax income for municipal services? Why not divert taxes from escalating military spending?

Road pricing attempts to micro-manage the civilian economy while ignoring the bull in the china shop: militarism and war. Wars also cause climate change. But the UN IPCC limits its reports to CO2 emissions from the civilian economy because the U.S. lobbied at the 1997 Kyoto Accord to keep military emissions out. After 22 years of misdirection we still follow suit.

The missing puzzle pieces to the climate picture—overt and covert war—are being placed, giving us the whole picture, opening new ways to ease our survival crisis.

Is war a civic issue? An environmental issue?

WWII soot, smoke, aerosol particles, caused warming

The findings on the study of nuclear winter and wildfires (also in 2017) are confirmed and extended by Harvard physicist Dr. Bernard Gottschalk and geoscientist J. Marvin Hendon. Analyzing global temperature data from 1880 to 2016, Dr. Gottschalk noticed a ‘heat bump’ at the time of WWII.

Dr. Gottschalk’s “World War II Heat Bump”: Did the War Contribute to Air Pollution and Global Warming?

Dr. Hendon followed up, demonstrating how air pollution particles released in war cause warming by reducing the action of convection in the troposphere. By convection and infrared radiation Earth releases trapped energy to maintain the delicate energy balance.

“By war’s end in 1945, the Allied Forces had dropped over 2.7 million tons of bombs in Europe alone, creating maelstroms of smoke, debris, dust, and soot, with fires that could rage for days.”

The quantities of aerosol particulates produced by weather wars defies imagination; but it would be reflected in the graph by the fast-rising temperatures to date.

These recent findings also suggest that ‘the Science’ is not singular. The question is not C02 or methane or aerosol particulates, or nuclear pollutants; not military or civilian activity.  As usual, being interconnected, it’s All of the Above.
